Held BCA Data Conference 2025, BCA Promotes Ethical AI Adoption for Business

Jakarta, 11 June 2025 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) hosted its inaugural BCA Data Conference 2025, themed "Ignite the Future with AI". The conference underscores the company's commitment to strengthening cross-industry preparedness amid the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Approximately 400 customers participated in the panel discussions held at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Jakarta, on Tuesday (10/6).

BCA President Director Hendra Lembong stated, "The BCA Data Conference 2025, held under the theme 'Ignite the Future with AI', gathered diverse insights, experiences, and strategic visions through discussions, sharing sessions, and inspiring presentations. We witnessed how artificial intelligence has already made a real impact and unlocked various opportunities across industries, while also presenting challenges that must be carefully and wisely addressed."

The BCA Data Conference 2025 featured a variety of engaging topics, including AI implementation strategies, regulatory developments and legal aspects of AI adoption in Indonesia, as well as corporate approaches to developing responsible, ethical, and transparent AI solutions. These sessions were delivered by experts and practitioners from both the public and private sectors, such as the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital Director of Artificial Intelligence and New Technology Ecosystem Aju Widya Sari, Head of SEA Google Cloud Data Analytics Specialist Arifin Iskandar, Microsoft Indonesia Technology Director Panji Wasmana, and Petrosea Digitalization Head Sudarto Unsurlany. Several BCA internal experts also contributed as speakers, including BCA Data Management VP Adhitya Bhaswara, BCA Data Management VP Suwandi, and BCA Data Management AVP Timotius Nico.

BCA Vice President Director Armand Wahyudi Hartono expressed, "The BCA Data Conference 2025 is not merely a platform to explore AI's potential and applications in business, but also an opportunity to spark the crucial conversation around AI Governance, covering the ethical, regulatory, and policy frameworks that underpin responsible AI development. BCA proactively promotes the use of AI in alignment with ethical principles and regulatory compliance. AI technology has been implemented across various operational areas, including ATM and CRM replenishment management, forecasting EDC and thermal paper stock requirements, and detecting potential fraud through the Fraud Detection system. Other innovations include Digital Valuation for Collateral Appraisal (DIVA), which utilizes machine learning to assess collateral values in real time, and BCA's Virtual Assistant Chat Banking (VIRA), which leverages Natural Language Processing (NLP) to understand customers' everyday language. In terms of security, AI is applied to biometric features within the myBCA application and to the verification process for digital banking account openings. Through these initiatives, BCA has earned several awards, including Best Data Governance in Banking Digital Services at the DataGovAI Summit, Expo & Awards 2018, and recognition for DIVA's innovation at the Brandon Hall Group Excellence in Technology Awards 2024.
