Mayor LeMay Thanks Voters for Supporting 2025 Bond

Dear Garland Residents,

I am profoundly grateful to all those who voted in the May 3 election and to our community for its support of the 2025 Grow Garland Bond Program. Your approval of Propositions A, B, C and D underscore a collective commitment to enhancing the quality of life in our city.

Reflecting on my tenure as Mayor, it's especially meaningful to note that I was first elected on May 4, 2019 - the same day Garland voters approved a transformative $423.7 million bond package. That vote launched a new era of investment in our city, and over the past six years, we have completed more than 70% of those projects, including major enhancements to parks, libraries, public safety facilities, and the Downtown Square.

The 2025 Grow Garland Bond Program builds upon that progress and is designed to take our city to the next level. By prioritizing critical improvements to streets and alleys, economic development, cultural arts, and parks and recreation, this bond program will significantly enhance Garland's appeal to residents and visitors alike. Most importantly, it aims to grow Garland's economy by creating the kind of dynamic, connected infrastructure and public spaces that attract new business development and job opportunities across the city - all without increasing the city's tax rate.

This success reflects the collaborative efforts of our community, including residents, the Bond Study Committee, City Council and City staff. Together, we've built a vision of a stronger, more prosperous Garland - and now, together, we begin the work of bringing that vision to life.

As I conclude my time as your Mayor, I am deeply proud of what we have accomplished. The approval of this bond program ensures that Garland continues on a path of innovation, investment, and inclusive growth. I look forward to seeing all that our city will achieve in the years ahead.

Thank you again for your trust, your voice, and your unwavering belief in Garland's future.

With gratitude,
Scott LeMay
Mayor, City of Garland
