A workshop in Sitka will start the weekend off right by exploring how to create the perfect sweet and spicy treat - cinnamon rolls!
The in-person workshop will be led by local food expert Paula Veshti, who is enrolled in the dietetics master's program at the University of Alaska Anchorage. The workshop is sponsored by the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service office in Sitka.
Participants will make and sample pillowy cinnamon rolls hot from the oven and also take a tray home to bake later. They'll experiment with flavors, including classic, bold cinnamon, seasonal pumpkin, wild berries and chocolate.
The workshop is from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Sitka Lutheran Church kitchen, 224 Lincoln St. Please use the back entrance to the church located on Harbor Drive, as the front door will be locked. The entrance is located at the end of a one-way alley, and parking is limited.
The cost is $40 and includes all materials. Space is limited.
