Coconut Creek, FL - Valley Bank associates joined Junior Achievement (JA) of South Florida for Volunteer Day at the Career Discovery Park, guiding local students through hands-on simulations that connected financial decision-making to future career success.
Coordinated by Alyshia Bennett, Charles Keys, and Faith Lance, the volunteer day represented a collaborative effort among Valley's Small Business Banking, Community Reinvestment (CRA), and Treasury Solutions teams. Together, they worked with more than 300 students from Broward County Public Schools to help them explore real-world financial scenarios and understand the decisions that shape their future.
The JA Career Discovery Park program serves more than 20,000 students annually from Broward and South Palm Beach Counties. Through curriculum-based learning and on-site simulations, students gain insight into managing budgets, balancing expenses, and making informed career choices.
This year, Valley introduced its own "Future Founders" storefront, where students stepped into the role of entrepreneurs. Inside the Valley-branded space, students learned about personal banking, explored how financial services support business growth, and discovered how customer relationships play a key role in community success.
