Gov. Beshear: Go Vote

Governor urges eligible Kentuckians to exercise their right to vote in upcoming elections

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 22, 2026) - Ahead of the upcoming elections on Nov. 3, Gov. Andy Beshear is reminding registered voters of the many polling options available to ensure their voices are heard.

"Voting is the bedrock of our democracy," said Gov. Beshear. "I encourage every eligible Kentuckian to exercise your right to vote, regardless of your party."

Voter ID Cards at Driver Licensing Offices
The Beshear administration has made Voter ID cards available at no cost to eligible registered voters who do not currently have an accepted form of identification. Voter ID cards can be requested at any of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's 35 Driver Licensing Regional Offices or at their regularly scheduled popup driver licensing events.

Driver Licensing Regional Offices are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday service hours will be offered at all offices on Oct. 24 from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Through Nov. 3, staff will prioritize Voter ID card requests to minimize barriers and help ensure eligible Kentuckians can exercise their right to vote.

Early Voting
Early, no-excuse voting in the commonwealth will take place Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 29-31. Kentuckians can find polling locations and hours at govote.ky.gov.

In Louisville, the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center will offer a first-of-its-kind drive-through voting location for early voting dates and Election Day. For more information, visit the Jefferson County Clerk website.

Election Day
In-person voting on Election Day - Tuesday, Nov. 3 - will take place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time. If you are in line at 6 p.m., you will still be able to vote. Find polling locations and hours at govote.ky.gov.

Absentee Ballots
All mail-in absentee ballots must be received by the State Board of Elections by 6 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. The deadline to request a mail-in absentee ballot has passed.
