Bringing Joy to Children, PT Timah's 49th Anniversary Hosts Free Circumcision for 617 Children Across Four Provinces

PANGKALPINANG -- As part of the Month of Service in celebration of PT Timah Tbk's 49th anniversary, the company held a mass circumcision event in its operational areas. A total of 617 children participated in the event, which carried the theme "For the Red and White."

The mass circumcision was carried out across four provinces: Bangka Belitung Islands, Riau, Riau Islands, and Jakarta, running from July to August 2025.

The free circumcision program was warmly welcomed by the community, as it has become a routine agenda carried out by PT Timah every year during its anniversary. It not only provides assistance to families but has also become an eagerly awaited event.

In addition to offering free circumcision services, PT Timah also provided gifts for participants, adding excitement to the event.

For many families, PT Timah's mass circumcision was a great help. One of them was Didik Edi Purwanto, a resident of Kampung Sawah, Mentok, West Bangka, who felt relieved to finally have his son circumcised through this program.

"Alhamdulillah, my son has been asking to be circumcised for a long time, but due to financial constraints, we couldn't do it. I am very grateful PT Timah organized this mass circumcision, and finally, my son could undergo it. Thank you to PT Timah, everything went smoothly," said Didik.

His son, Angger Bagus Panuntun (8), a first grader at SDN 6 Mentok, also expressed happiness despite enduring some pain.

"It hurt a little, Uncle. But I'm happy because I got a gift," he said innocently with a smile.

Similarly, Rohim, the father of Iqbal, one of the hundreds of children who joined the mass circumcision in Bangka Regency, shared his gratitude.

"Alhamdulillah, my son has finally been circumcised for free by PT Timah. He had wanted to be circumcised for a long time, but I couldn't afford it. I'm thankful it was free today," said Rohim.

The resident of Pemali Village explained that PT Timah's mass circumcision greatly helped his family amid financial challenges. The program allowed him to feel relieved as his son could finally undergo the procedure at no cost.

"I work odd jobs, just enough to cover daily needs. I once tried to register for another free circumcision program, but it was already full. When I heard PT Timah was holding one, I signed up right away. Thank you, PT Timah, this really helped me, and finally my son was circumcised," he said.

Meanwhile, Iqbal himself expressed joy after being circumcised. He had long wanted to undergo the procedure and was not only grateful for it but also delighted to receive a gift from PT Timah.

"I'm happy, finally Iqbal was circumcised even though it hurt a little. Getting a gift made me even happier. Thank you, PT Timah, Iqbal has been circumcised," he said.
