Boston (October 7, 2026) - Senator Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) released the following statement marking three years since the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel that saw the murder of 1,200 people.
"It has been three solemn years since Hamas's heinous terror attack on Israel, and we continue to mourn with the families and share their grief as we remember the loved ones who were killed on October 7 and those who were held in captivity for months after. It was the deadliest day in Jewish history since the Holocaust, and we must never forget. Today we honor the strength and resilience these families have shown over the past three years. We must continue to support them as they grieve and move forward. May the memories of those lost be a blessing.
"Three years into the brutality of the war in Gaza, we must stop the bombing, end this conflict, and usher in much-needed humanitarian aid into Gaza. We must recommit to bring about lasting peace for Israelis and Palestinians, ensuring self-determination, peace, and freedom for all."
