Winnipeg, MB - At 5:57 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a vacant house in the 500 block of Sherbrook Street.
At the scene, crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire using a defensive attack, and they sprayed water from aerial ladder trucks. Firefighters declared the fire under control at 8:55 a.m.
A neighbouring home was temporarily evacuated as a precaution. Winnipeg Transit provided a bus for temporary shelter for evacuated residents.
No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
