Dear Adelphi Students, Faculty, Administration and Staff,
As we come to the close of the Fall 2025 semester, we're writing to share updates on Adelphi University's Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) reaccreditation process and how we've progressed during the semester.
Early in the semester, we enjoyed attending meetings with the Board of Trustees, faculty, deans, assistant and associate deans, department chairs, Student Affairs staff, student groups, and the Campus Advisory Committee to outline the purpose, structure and timeline of the Middle States re-accreditation process. We are grateful for the engagement and thoughtful feedback we have received from across the community.
Meanwhile, our seven working groups, each focused on one of the seven Middle States standards, have been hard at work gathering and analyzing data from campus constituents. They are completing draft chapters of the University's self-study, which will serve as the foundation of our institutional review.
In the coming months, the MSCHE Executive Steering Committee will review, edit and synthesize these chapters into a cohesive draft self-study report. There will be several opportunities for faculty, staff and students to participate in this process and contribute to shaping the final document.
On Nov. 11, Dr. Ciabocchi met with our new MSCHE vice president liaison, Reha Shackelford, who confirmed that Adelphi is on track with its Self-Study timeline and communications. She will communicate with Adelphi about the selection of a Self-Study evaluation team chair in the upcoming year.
We look forward to continued collaboration as we demonstrate Adelphi's ongoing commitment to academic excellence, institutional effectiveness and student success. If you'd like more information on the process and timeline, please visit our MSCHE website or email us at [email protected].
Warm regards,
Liz Ciabocchi and Lawrence Hobbie
