Bandalos Chinos join the Gibson Artist Spotlight program

Argentinian indie stars delivering "upbeat, laid-back pop with moments of nostalgia"

Introducing Bandalos Chinos, the latest addition to the Gibson Artist Spotlight program, dedicated to showcasing and supporting exceptional emerging music talent around the world. Hailing from northern Buenos Aires, Bandalos Chinos have released four albums to date and have been responsible for raising the bar for indie music, both in their native Argentina and across Latin America. We spoke to guitarists Tomás Verduga and Iñaki Colombo to dig into their favorite instruments and find out more about their career so far.

How would you describe your music?

"Music created and crafted by humans using 20th century instruments. It's upbeat, laid-back pop with moments of nostalgia."

What is your favorite piece of gear?

Tomás: "The Gibson Victory. I added it to my collection in 2025 while touring in the United States, and it quickly became my number-one guitar. It's ergonomic, lightweight, and the coil-splitting feature makes it incredibly versatile. Its rarity also tends to catch people's attention wherever I play."

Iñaki: "My Gibson SG™ Special. I first played it at Gibson Garage Miami while kicking off a U.S. tour, and it immediately won me over. Since then, it has been on every tour."

What has been the highlight of your musical career so far?

"Playing Luna Park in Buenos Aires in 2022 was an incredible experience. Performing at such an iconic venue in Argentine history was unforgettable. Another career highlight was playing the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City in 2025, a memory that will stay with us forever."

What would be your dream artist or producer collaboration, and why?

"Blake Mills. He's an extraordinary guitarist and producer who can write beautiful folk songs while also creating highly experimental music. I really admire that avant-garde approach to creativity."

What does be part of the Gibson Artist Spotlight program mean to you?

"It's truly incredible. I grew up admiring Jimmy Page and his Les Paul, so being chosen by Gibson to represent and play their guitars is both a dream come true and a tremendous honor."

What's next on the horizon for you?

"We're currently recording a new album while continuing to tour throughout the Americas. There's a lot of exciting new music and live performances on the way."
