FedEx Express Corporation, one of the world's largest express transportation companies, has further enhanced its service in Northern Vietnam, with the additional outbound flight operating every Monday departing from Hanoi. This service enhancement is designed to improve connectivity to major Asia and Europe markets, supporting Vietnamese businesses acceleration in global trade.
The new route connects Incheon International Airport in South Korea with Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi before continuing to the FedEx Asia Pacific hub in Guangzhou, China. With the introduction of this new route, shipments from Northern Vietnam will reach Asia and Europe one day faster, while exports to Trans-Pacific destinations like the U.S. and Canada will benefit from enhanced service reliability. With the upcoming peak season, the added outbound capacity gives exporters greater flexibility to meet rising shipping demand more effectively and reliably.
"Vietnam continues to play a pivotal role in global supply chains, and we remain deeply committed to helping businesses in the North connect to the world with speed and reliability," said Ee-Hui Tan, managing director FedEx of Vietnam and Cambodia. "This additional flight strengthens our network, empowering our customers with faster service, greater reliability and increased shipping capacity -- giving them a sharper competitive edge in an increasingly dynamic market."
The new route strengthens the Vietnam-Europe trade corridor, especially for high demand sectors like electronics, textiles and furniture. Since the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) took effect in 2020, two-way trade has surged to nearly USD300 billion, according to National Statistics Office of Vietnam. This positions Vietnam as the EU's largest trading partner in ASEAN.
By enhancing its network and services, FedEx is aligning with this momentum - empowering exporters in Northern Vietnam to better meet Europe's growing demand. This growth benefits both large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and e-commerce shippers. As European consumers increasingly shop online for Vietnamese goods, faster and more reliable logistics solutions help local businesses compete, expand into new markets and thrive in the digital economy.
The new outbound flight highlights FedEx's continued strategic investment in Vietnam and ongoing optimization of its global air network. Building on recent milestones including the adoption of a direct-serve model earlier this year and the launch of weekly flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe in October 2023 these enhancements demonstrate FedEx commitment to delivering faster, more reliable cross-border connections for Vietnamese customers, while supporting the nation's long-term economic growth.
