City of Tuscaloosa Water and Sewer Department Awarded Area-Wide Optimization Awards

The City of Tuscaloosa's Jerry Plott and Ed Love Water Treatment Plants have been awarded with Area-Wide Optimization Program (AWOP) Awards for outstanding commitment to excellence of operation that maximizes public health protection.

These awards are given to plants and operators that have greatly exceeded the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulation for microbial removal.

This is the 15th time a City plant has received this award.
