Minister Konaković met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani

On January 19, 2026, Elmedin Konaković, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, met with Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and deepen cooperation between their two countries. They placed special emphasis on enhancing political dialogue and exchanging experiences in addressing global and regional challenges.

Minister Konaković updated his counterpart on Bosnia and Herzegovina's foreign policy priorities, highlighting that despite existing challenges, the European path remains the strategic goal. He anticipates further progress in the integration process. In this context, he emphasized the importance of cooperation with neighbouring countries and partners to accelerate European integration and enhance overall stability. He noted that ongoing reform processes contribute to political and economic stability, bolster investor confidence, and create a more favourable business environment. The Minister expressed Bosnia and Herzegovina's desire to establish partnership relations with Bahrain to enhance political, economic, and cultural cooperation.

The ministers also exchanged views on the situation in Palestine and broader regional challenges, underscoring the need for a just and lasting peace. Minister Konaković reaffirmed Bosnia and Herzegovina's consistent support for international community efforts based on relevant United Nations resolutions, stating that stability in the Middle East is crucial for global security. He reiterated that Bosnia and Herzegovina advocates political solutions that will contribute to ending the violence and suffering of civilians.

Minister Al Zayani reaffirmed Bahrain's commitment to peace and stability in the region. He stressed the importance of joint action and coordination in international forums to uphold the rights of the Palestinian people and ensure long-term stability. He expressed support for developing relations between Bahrain and Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighting the necessity of dialogue and cooperation, especially during global challenges. He assessed that there is ample opportunity to intensify contacts at all levels, including the exchange of visits, to ensure continuous communication and improve cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
