Harrisburg, PA - Today, the Pennsylvania Insurance Department (PID) is encouraging Pennsylvanians to review their insurance coverage and take the necessary steps to protect themselves during vacation this summer season.
Whether traveling across the state, across the country, or hosting a party at home, unexpected events such as severe weather, flight disruptions, accidents, lost belongings, or medical emergencies can quickly alter summer plans. Pennsylvanians should take the time to explore available insurance protections available to them through their homeowners' insurance policy as well as travel insurance coverage to offer protection and avoid unnecessary financial hardship.
"Summer should be about making memories, not managing unexpected setbacks. That is why it's important for Pennsylvanians to think about their insurance needs during the summer months - before it's too late," said Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner Michael Hupmhreys. "Ensuring you are prepared and protected for any of life's curveballs only takes a few minutes and can make all the difference."
As a first step, Pennsylvanians should review their homeowners' insurance policies to learn more about their current coverage and ways in which they can better protect their homes this summer. For pool owners, this is also an ideal time to confirm they have sufficient liability coverage, since owning a pool increases liability risks.
