Rep. Fallon Leads Letter Congratulating Sean Curran on Appointment to Director of US Secret Service

Washington, DC -- Rep Pat Fallon (TX-04) led a letter on Friday to newly appointed Director of the U.S. Secret Service, Sean Curran, in congratulations of the new position and emphasizing its critical importance. On the appointment, Rep. Fallon commented:

"Congratulations to Sean Curran on being appointed by President Trump to serve as the next director of the U.S. Secret Service. Curran's actions are a testament to his dedication to the agency's zero-fail mission."

"As the special agent in charge of President Trump's detail at the July 13 rally in Butler, PA, Curran displayed literal courage under fire by putting himself between Mr. Trump and the shooter." Rep. Fallon continued, "Curran also made repeated requests to higher-ups for additional security assets ahead of the July 13 rally that were denied."

"With how things stand at the Secret Service due to the incompetence of its former leadership, Curran has his work cut out for him as he works to put an end to the agency's culture of complacency. However, I think I speak for many of us when I say that the nation is counting on him to advance much needed reforms aimed at preventing the stunning security failures we witnessed this past summer."
