Monroe Street and Jackson Street interchanges at Interstate I-10

The City of Indio is proud to share continued progress on two major infrastructure projects: the reconstruction and widening of the Monroe Street and Jackson Street interchanges at Interstate 10 (I-10). These long-term capital improvement projects are designed to ease traffic congestion, enhance safety, and improve mobility for residents, visitors, and commuters traveling through Indio.

While you may not yet see visible construction activity, significant behind-the-scenes work has been underway for years. The City has been diligently collaborating with Riverside County and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to bring these reconstruction projects to life.

We recognize the community's interest in these high-impact projects and appreciate your patience. These improvements are being developed with careful planning, environmental stewardship, and fiscal responsibility to ensure the best possible outcomes for Indio and the broader Coachella Valley region.

Project Highlights:
· Reconstruction and widening of freeway on- and off-ramps at both Monroe and Jackson interchanges
· Replacement of overcrossings at I-10 and the Coachella Valley Stormwater Channel (Whitewater River)
· Additional through lanes and turn lanes to improve traffic flow
· Integration with the CV Link: A regional active transportation pathway for pedestrians, bicyclists, and low-speed electric vehicles (including golf carts). Learn more: CV Link
· Incorporation of Class IV Bike Lanes along both Monroe and Jackson

Timeline Overview:

o Final design completed: Fall 2025
o Construction begins: Summer 2026
o Estimated completion: Summer 2028

Jackson Street Interchange:
