ARAG to provide legal and assistance covers as John Lewis Money becomes regulated broker

ARAG will provide legal expenses insurance and emergency assistance covers alongside John Lewis Money products, following the financial services arm of the John Lewis Partnership announcing that it has secured a licence to become a regulated insurance broker.

As reported across both the insurance and national on Friday 6th March, the move will allow John Lewis Money to offer more choice in home and car insurance to even more customers, with more competitive pricing.

The first new products to be launched will be home insurance policies, which will go live in April, with a network of reputable insurers. This will be followed by the launch of a panel of car insurance providers in the summer.

Commenting on the announcement, ARAG CEO David Haynes said:

"Everyone at ARAG is excited to be part of this launch and working in partnership with John Lewis Money. Their mission to protect customers in all life's moments is a passion that ARAG shares and our teams have worked closely together to shape legal protection and emergency assistance products that are as straightforward, transparent and fair as their customers have come to expect."

John Lewis Money Director, James Mack, commented:

"This move allows us to step away from a 'one-size-fits-all' approach and instead curates a panel of leading insurers to better protect the way we live today. It's about using our independence to act as an advocate for our customers, ensuring they get the quality and peace of mind they expect from our brand."

John Lewis Money has more than 1.4 million active customers, across a range of products, including its popular Partnership Credit Card, and offers a range of financial products including home, car and pet insurance, loans and travel money.
