State Route 24 (SR-24) Caldecott Tunnel Overnight Closure Bores #1, 2, and 3

Nightly Wednesday, February 18, 2026, through Friday, February 20, 2026
10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

Alameda and Contra Costa Counties - Caltrans has scheduled overnight closures of Bores 1, 2 and 3 of the Caldecott Tunnel on State Route 24 (SR-24) for tunnel washing, routine maintenance, and drainage cleaning. All work is weather dependent.

Closure Schedule of SR-24:

Bores #1 & #3 Closure SR-24

  • Wednesday, February 18, 2026 -closed from 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

Bore #1 Closure EB SR-24

  • Thursday, February 19, 2026 -closed from 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

Bore #2 Closure EB SR-24

  • Friday, February 20, 2026- closed from 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

During the work, at least one bore in each direction will remain open.

Traffic Control Measures:

Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time. Please drive with caution through the construction zone. Slow for the Cone Zone.
