Burnsville, Dec 8 - The Minnesota Bio-Fuels Association (MN Bio-Fuels) released its 2025 Annual Report to its members and industry stakeholders at an event at Canterbury Park in Shakopee on Dec 3.
"Our efforts on your behalf began in 2025 with advocacy in St. Paul and Washington, D.C., which yielded results in the form of investment in biofuel infrastructure, progress on permitting efficiency, a preserved 45Z tax credit, robust volumes in the RFS, and emergency waivers for year-round E15," said Brian Werner, executive director of MN Bio-Fuels.
During the year, he said MN Bio-Fuels continued to provide assistance to fuel retailers in accessing state and federal biofuel infrastructure grants. These efforts played a role in bringing the total number of stations offering E15 in Minnesota to a record 550 stations - an increase of 50 stations from 2024.
Werner said MN Bio-Fuels reached even more consumers in 2025 through radio advertising, social media, promotional campaigns, and retailer events. Additionally, for the first time, he said MN Bio-Fuels participated at the 2025 Minnesota State Fair to promote the economic and environmental benefits of E15.
"Lastly, we reached a new milestone this year when we added eight new associate members, bringing our overall total to 37 - the highest in MN Bio-Fuels history! We are stronger and more effective because of these enhanced partnerships," he said.
The 2025 Annual Report launch event included a special keynote on the outlook of the biofuels industry by Jacqui Fatka, lead economist on farm supply and biofuels at CoBank.
