PHILADELPHIA - United States Attorney David Metcalf announced that Khalil Lee, 47, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was sentenced today to six and a half years in prison, three years' supervised release, and $2,015 in restitution by United States District Judge Paul S. Diamond for robbing two city banks the same day.
In July of last year, the defendant was charged by indictment with the June 2, 2025, robberies of Citizens Bank branches on the 2000 block of South Broad Street and the 8000 block of Germantown Avenue. He pleaded guilty to both in April.
In addition to the two charged robberies, Lee also admitted to the July 28, 2025, attempted robbery of the Citizens Bank branch on the 6000 block of Ridge Avenue and the robbery of the WSFS Bank branch on the 5800 block of Ridge Avenue, which he committed later that day.
This case was investigated by the FBI Philadelphia Violent Crimes Task Force and the Philadelphia Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas M. Zaleski.
