Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach Department of Economic Development & Opportunity (EDO) is exploring the feasibility of establishing a business association in West Long Beach and is inviting business owners and stakeholders to get involved and learn about the initiative. The event is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Casa Chaskis (2380 Santa Fe Ave.).

EDO has been actively engaging with businesses along the Santa Fe Avenue business corridor, from Anaheim to Willow Streets, to better understand local needs and opportunities. This event will provide business owners with opportunities to meet with City staff, network with other business owners, collaborate and share ideas and resources for making the Santa Fe Avenue corridor a more thriving neighborhood marketplace. Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP online.

As part of the Westside Promise initiative, EDO is exploring ways to create jobs, expand workforce training opportunities and drive long-term economic growth in the area. A key effort is the establishment of a new business association dedicated to enhancing economic growth on the Westside. Earlier this year, EDO hosted a Westside Long Beach Economic and Market Study with more than 40 local businesses, residents and stakeholders to discuss existing market conditions and potential strategies for growing economic development and boosting investment in West Long Beach.

For additional information about the event, contact Kyle Smith, Business Improvement District Program Manager, EDO, at 562.570.7623 or [email protected]. Media inquiries can be directed to Chelsey Magallon, Public Affairs Officer, EDO, at 562.570.3863 or [email protected].
