TRAFFIC ALERT - New Castle County - I-95/Rt 896 Interchange Upcoming Closures

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces overnight lane closures on northbound I-95 for pavement striping and bridge painting (Sunday and Tuesday) and overnight lane closures on southbound I-95 for striping and bridge painting (Sunday and Monday). There will also be overnight lane closures on northbound and southbound Rt 896 for paving and overhead sign structure installation (Monday-Thursday).

I-95 AND RAMP IMPACTS

· Sunday, August 24th: Overnight multi-lane closure, Northbound I-95 from the Toll Plaza to the Route 896 Interchange (single lane 7PM, double lane midnight - 6AM)

· Sunday, August 24th: Overnight lane closure, Southbound I-95, from the Welcome Center to the Route 72 overpass (8PM - 6AM)

· Monday, August 25th: Overnight lane closure, Southbound I-95, from the Route 896 interchange to the Toll Plaza (7PM-7AM)

· Tuesday, August 26th: Overnight multi-lane closure, Northbound I-95 from the Toll Plaza to Route 896 Interchange (single lane 6PM, double lane 10PM - 6AM)

Rt 896 IMPACTS

· Monday, August 25th: Overnight lane closure, Southbound Route 896, from Welsh Tract Road to the I-95 Interchange (10PM - 6AM)

· Tuesday, August 26th through Thursday, August 28th: Overnight lane closure, Northbound Route 896, from the Old Baltimore Pike to the I-95 Interchange (10PM - 6AM); Rolling Roadblocks (12AM - 5AM)

· Wednesday, August 27th and Thursday, August 28th: Overnight lane closure, Southbound Route 896, from Welsh Tract Road to the I-95 Interchange:

o Wednesday, August 27th: 10PM - 6AM

o Thursday, August 28th: 11PM - 6AM
