Secretary-General of ASEAN reaffirms strong partnership to advance clean energy transition at the 7th East Asia Summit (EAS) Clean Energy Forum

Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, delivered pre-recorded remarks at the 7th East Asia Summit (EAS) Clean Energy Forum held in Fuzhou, China, on 4 November 2025. In his message, he reaffirmed ASEAN's strong commitment to advancing regional energy connectivity through the ASEAN Power Grid (APG) and enhancing collaborative efforts to mobilise financing under the ASEAN Power Grid Financing Initiative (APGF), and to promoting greater cooperation on important technologies such as carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS), waste-to-energy solutions, and energy storage systems. He emphasised that collective action and sustained collaborative partnerships with all EAS Members are vital to achieving a cleaner, more secure, and better-connected energy future for the region.
