The Village of Flossmoor is hosting an open house on Phase 3 of the Flossmoor Road Viaduct Drainage Improvements Project from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, in the Helen Wilson Meeting Room at the Flossmoor Public Library (1000 Sterling Ave.). The project - led by contractor Airy's, Inc. with construction engineering by Baxter & Woodman - is expected to begin on June 2 with substantial completion expected by August 15. Final completion - including restoration work - is planned by for October 31. During the project, residents can expect road detours in the Heather Hill neighborhood due to Lawrence Crescent being closed to local traffic only during construction between the Heather Hill Elementary School detention basin and Maryland Avenue. Residents who live on Lawrence Crescent will have access to their driveways at most times, except when the storm sewer is being installed in front of their home, which should not last more than one day. Residents are invited to learn more at the May 8 open house, where they can meet with Village staff and and project engineers. All are welcome!
