Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Xiao Jianguo Attends 70th Anniversary Celebration of the Foochow Association Belait

On 29th November, H.E. Ambassador Xiao Jianguo was invited to attend the Celebration of 70th Anniversary of the Foochow Assiciation Belait.

Ambassador Xiao commends the Association's long-standing dedication to serving the local community, actively participating in Brunei's development, supporting the development of their ancestral homeland, promoting traditional Chinese culture, and contributing to enhancing cooperation and people-to-people bonds between China and Brunei.

Ambassador Xiao also elaborated on the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. He highlighted that China stands ready to strengthen alignment between development plans of the two countries, promote new achievements in bilateral cooperation, deepen people-to-people exchanges, for the purpose of advancing a China-Brunei community with a shared future to new heights. Ambassador Xiao also stated that he is about to end his tenure in Brunei, and thanked local Chinese community for their support. He expressed confidence that the relations between China and Brunei will continue to make new progress.

Mr. Hwang Lim Ming, President of the Association expressed gratitude to Ambassador Xiao for his long-standing care and support for local Chinese community over the past two years, stating that the Association will continue its efforts to preserve traditional Chinese culture and contribute to China-Brunei friendship.
