Small Scale Development Lecture scheduled on November 3, 2025

October 27, 2025

A Small Scale Development Lecture - the first of a 3-part series coordinated by Incremental Development Alliance (IncDev) in partnership with the City of Norman - will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 PM 11/3/25 at The Standard, 315 E. Gray Street, and feature Speaker Eric Kronberg. The event is free and open to all.

"The Incremental Development Alliance works to support a diverse network of people who want to make their communities stronger through small, intentional development," said Sara Kaplan, Chief Business & Community Relations Officer for the City of Norman. "We are looking forward to this collaborative opportunity and are hopeful for a great turnout!"

Kronberg, who has worked with IncDev since 2015, is a "zoning whisperer" who specializes in balancing urban design, architecture, and development needs to create better places. He advocates for walkable communities and shares knowledge to help navigate the maze of redevelopment.

"Having recently passed a new master plan, this is wonderful timing for the community to come together to learn more about the power of small," Kaplan said.

IncDev, who travels the country offering trainings to the development community and enthusiasts, as well as municipal officials, said the lecture will be followed by a community workshop and "bootcamp" in months to come. According to their website, IncDev serves:

  • Aspiring Small-Scale Developers: Teaching how to finance, design, and manage projects that fit a particular area or neighborhood.
  • City Officials & Planners: Bringing incremental ideas into policies, permitting, and public infrastructure.
  • Neighborhood Leaders: Advocating for zoning and investments that support people-oriented places.
  • Foundations & Sponsors: Funding local action and capacity-building that leads to long-term impact.
  • Policymakers: Backing reforms that unlock small-scale solutions in your region.

The event on 11/3/25 is made possible by The Standard, event host; and community sponsors OEC Electric & Fiber, Johnson Commercial Group, First United Bank and Johnson & Associates. To best prepare, event coordinators request pre-registration online at https://www.incrementaldevelopment.org/events/normanlecture2025.
