Secretary Griswold Encourages Voters to Return Ballots at Drop Boxes or Vote In Person Ahead of Vote Early Day
Denver, October 23, 2026 - Tomorrow is Vote Early Day, and Secretary of State Jena Griswold is encouraging voters to take advantage of the State's secure and convenient ballot return options by returning their ballot early at one of more than 450 ballot drop boxes or one of more than 380 voter centers across the state.
"With more than 800 locations for voters to cast their ballot this election, I hope Coloradans will join me in voting early - and Vote Early Day is a great opportunity to do so!" said Secretary of State Jena Griswold. "Voting is easy, secure, and convenient in Colorado, and I'm proud of all the work election workers do every day to ensure every eligible Coloradan can make their voice heard."
Vote Early Day is a nonpartisan movement working to ensure all eligible voters have the tools to vote early, and to remind voters that Election Day is not the first day to vote, but the last. In Colorado, drop boxes opened for voters on October 12 and voter centers opened on October 19. As of October 22, 661,879 voters have returned a ballot in the 2026 General Election.
Ballots must be returned to a ballot drop box or voter center, or received by a voter's County Clerk by mail, no later than 7:00 PM on Election Day to be counted. Eligible Coloradans who register to vote by October 26 will be mailed a ballot. After that, eligible Coloradans can register to vote and vote in person by visiting a voter center. Visit GoVoteColorado.gov for voting locations and election information.
