At Fetterman’s Urging, FEMA Releases Nearly $600 Million in Delayed Healthcare Funds

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Following an April 29th letter from U.S. Senator John Fetterman (D-PA), the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced the release of nearly $600 million in delayed reimbursements for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The funding will provide critical support to hospitals that took on significant out-of-pocket costs as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The disbursement of this funding is essential for their continued operations.

"I'm grateful to Secretary Mullin and FEMA for releasing these funds to the hospitals in Pennsylvania that provided lifesaving care through a global pandemic and have been waiting for these reimbursements. Our healthcare workers and first responders represent the very best of us, and these hospitals responded heroically for our communities. This is a long awaited relief for them," said Senator Fetterman.
