Kansas City, Missouri (March 23) - UAA men's basketball senior Hasaan Herrington added a final major honor to his collegiate resume Monday, being named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches' NCAA Div. II All-District Team.
The 6-3 guard was a second-team all-district selection after helping the Seawolves to a 21-11 record and NCAA Tournament berth, recognizing him as one of the top-10 players in the 35-team NCAA Div. II West Region.
Herrington ranked No. 3 nationally and led the Great Northwest Athletic Conference with a 3.26-to-1 assist-turnover ratio, posting numbers of 11.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.7 steals per game. The East Anchorage High School product was the only player in the GNAC to finish top 10 in both assists and steals, earning First Team All-GNAC and GNAC Defensive Player of the Year.
Among his big games as a senior, Herrington had a career-high 24 points (8-12 FG, 4-5 3FG) and nine assists in UAA's home win over MSU Billings, plus 13 points and a career-high 14 assists - the most by a Seawolf in 10 years - in a home win over Central Washington.
On UAA's career lists, he finished No. 5 with 124 steals and No. 12 with 258 assists, while becoming the only Seawolf this decade to appear in two NCAA Tournaments.
Herrington is the first Seawolf since Oggie Pantovic in 2021-22 to earn all-district honors.
