PRESS RELEASE
ANGELINE MUCKLE-JABBAR TO JOIN PRIVATE SECTOR FOLLOWING TENURE AS CHIEF OF STAFF TO CONGRESSWOMAN STACEY E. PLASKETT
U.S. Virgin Islands- After years of dedicated service on Capitol Hill, Angeline M. Jabbar will depart the Office of Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett to join a leading Washington, D.C. law and government relations firm.
Angeline most recently served as Chief of Staff to Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett, representing the U.S. Virgin Islands in the U.S. House of Representatives. As Chief of Staff, Angeline provided strategic leadership and oversight of the Congresswoman's Washington, D.C. and district offices and worked closely with congressional leadership, Members of Congress, federal agencies, community leaders, private-sector organizations, and other stakeholders on legislative and policy priorities affecting the U.S. Virgin Islands and the nation.
During her tenure in the Office of Congresswoman Plaskett, Angeline served as Legislative Director, advancing the Congresswoman's legislative agenda and strengthening relationships across Capitol Hill and throughout the federal government. Her responsibilities included legislative strategy, staff management, congressional operations, and stakeholder engagement. She has been instrumental in mentoring numerous interns in the office.
Angeline also served as Congresswoman Plaskett's liaison to the Congressional Black Caucus, Congressional Caribbean Caucus, and Congressional Caucus on Black Innovation, including work associated with their legislative and policy programming. She has been actively involved in developing relationships among national, Caribbean, and international stakeholders.
Prior to joining Congresswoman Plaskett's office, Angeline built a career spanning federal legislative affairs, government relations, public policy, and local government. Her professional experience includes working with former Congresswoman Donna M. Christensen; in the Office of D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser; as Judicial Clerk to former Virgin Islands Superior Court Judge Edgar Ross; and at the U.S. Department of Labor.
Throughout her career, Ms. Jabbar has worked on a broad range of legislative and policy matters, including economic development, housing, healthcare, education, energy, technology, agriculture, government operations, and issues affecting communities in the Caribbean and the U.S. Virgin Islands. That experience has given her a comprehensive understanding of the legislative process and the relationships necessary to advance complex policy priorities in Washington. Angeline is a graduate of Howard University and Georgetown University Law Center.
"Angeline has been an invaluable member of our team and a trusted adviser throughout her tenure in my office," said Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett. "Her leadership, institutional knowledge, commitment to public service, and ability to bring people together have made a lasting contribution to our work on behalf of the people of the Virgin Islands. I am excited to see her take this next step in her career and know that she will continue to make an impact in Washington, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and many other locations."
"I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have served Congresswoman Plaskett and the people of my home, the U.S. Virgin Islands," said Angeline. "Serving as Chief of Staff has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my professional career. I am proud of the work our team accomplished and of the relationships built."
Angeline added, "I am excited to begin this next chapter of my career. My years in government have given me a firsthand understanding of how legislative and public policy decisions are developed and implemented. I look forward to bringing that experience to the firm and working with its clients and team to navigate the increasingly complex federal policy and government relations environment."
In her new role, Angeline will advise clients on federal legislative and policy matters, government relations, and strategic engagement.
