President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will take part in the 10th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and in the 1st CELAC-Africa Forum, on March 21 in Bogotá.
The 10th CELAC Summit of Heads of State and Government will serve as an important forum for reflecting on regional challenges in the current context. It will also mark the handover of the Community 's Pro Tempore Presidency (PPT) from Colombia to Uruguay.
CELAC is the only regional dialogue and coordination mechanism that brings together all 33 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
The 10th CELAC Summit will be preceded by the 1st CELAC-Africa High-Level Forum, which will bring together leaders from Latin American countries and their African counterparts. The Forum aims to deepen dialogue on issues such as sustainable development, food security, energy, and coordination in multilateral forums.
Since the beginning of his current term, President Lula has participated in all CELAC high-level meetings, including the CELAC Summits in Buenos Aires (2023), Kingstown (2024), and Tegucigalpa (2025), the two CELAC-EU Summits in Brussels (2023) and Santa Marta (2025), and the CELAC-China Forum in Beijing (2025).
