Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania extend greetings to the people of the Kingdom of Spain on the occasion of the National Day of Spain.

'Lithuania greatly values its friendly relations with Spain and our close cooperation within the European Union, NATO, and other international formats. We remain deeply grateful for Spain's steadfast contribution to NATO's collective defence, including the Air Policing Mission and the Enhanced Forward Presence in the Baltic region. Your country's commitment is a true demonstration of allied solidarity and shared responsibility for Europe's security.

In these challenging times, marked by Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine, unity among European democracies has never been more important. Together, we must remain firm in our support until a just and lasting peace is achieved.

There is no doubt that our deepening cooperation in energy, defence, and innovation continues to make both our nations - and the European Union as a whole - stronger and more resilient.'
