On September 13, 2026, at approximately 12:07 a.m., Fullerton Police Officers responded to St. Jude Medical Center regarding an unresponsive 18-year-old male, later identified as Anthony Joseph Blas, who had been dropped off at the hospital's emergency department. Despite lifesaving efforts, the male was pronounced deceased by medical staff.
Fullerton Police Detectives responded to the scene and initiated a death investigation.
Detectives later determined the incident occurred in the area of Associated Rd. and Milton Ave., and Blas was a Cal State Fullerton student who was attending a function at an unaffiliated fraternity.
Based on the preliminary investigation, alcohol consumption appears to have been a contributing factor in the male's death. However, the official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner's Office.
At this time, hazing is not considered to be a factor, and there is no evidence to suggest foul play. This investigation remains active and ongoing.
