Gilbert PD January 20 Shooting Investigation

Gilbert, Ariz. - Just before 3:00 PM, Gilbert Police responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 3000 block of East Blackhawk Court in Gilbert.

The reporting party, an adult female, stated her parents had been arguing, and she heard her father stating he would kill his mother, followed by multiple gunshots.

When officers arrived, they forced entry into the home and located two individuals with serious injuries: 74-year-old Genifrances Williamson, who was pronounced deceased at the scene, and 76-year-old David Williamson, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition and later pronounced deceased.

This incident is being investigated as a murder-suicide, and there are no outstanding subjects and no outstanding threat to the public.
