President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami.

The President congratulated the Iranian people on the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, asking the Ambassador to convey his best wishes to President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian.

He emphasized the importance for Armenia of the continued development of friendly relations with Iran. During the meeting, the President highlighted the need to intensify mutual visits at various levels and to more effectively utilize existing opportunities, in the economic and particularly in the infrastructure sectors. He also stressed that Armenia highly appreciates Iran's leadership's clear position regarding Armenia's territorial integrity and the inviolability of its borders.

Ambassador Khalil Shirgholami thanked the President for the reception and congratulations, noting the significance of the meeting in terms of mutual respect and cooperation. The meeting also addressed key issues on the agenda of Armenian-Iranian multifaceted cooperation and the situation in the region.
