Behind the Booth: ReMA2026 Sponsor Previews – SWEED Machinery Inc

Excited to explore ReMA2026 - The Show's exhibit hall but not sure where to start? No problem.

ReMA News spoke with several of the convention's top sponsors for a sneak peek at what attendees can expect from their booths and find out what these companies are looking forward to at ReMA2026.

Mel Tally, Marketing Manager, SWEED & Kevin Gordon, Sales Director, SWEED

What can attendees look forward to from SWEED at ReMA2026?

Kevin Gordon: We're excited about the level of engagement that we're bringing to the convention. Attendees will see a cross section of our company's expertise. There will be a leadership contingent and sales expertise, our engineering lead will be there to represent the technical side, and Mel will be there as our marketing manager. The group that's going to ReMA2026 reflects how we collaborate with our customers. We want to listen first and understand what challenges processors are facing, what's changing in their operations, where they are trying to move forward, and help them think through practical, real-world solutions. We've always considered ourselves to be a solutions-based OEM and that's how we treat ReMA2026-it's an opportunity to present solutions and find out what our customers need.

So, our expectation for the show is to have great conversations, meet new people, and reconnect with longtime partners.

What are you excited for during ReMA2026?

Kevin Gordon: The most exciting part for me is the concentration of people and all the ideas that are cultivated through conversations. It's an important event where we can have meaningful conversations in a short period of time. We always leave the event with real action items for both existing and prospective customers.

Mel Tally: Since SWEED has gotten more involved with ReMA over the past several years, we've had the chance to meet so many new faces and learn about other members' businesses. I'm excited to engage with those folks again and meet up with people who I now consider friends in the industry. To add to what Kevin said, the concentration of people, ideas, and real conversations is something I always look forward to, both making those connections and keeping them year after year.

Kevin Gordon: The ReMA convention is probably one of the best places to get the pulse of the industry. The sessions are powerful and there's a lot of data and information. For someone like me who isn't in the field as much as I'd like to be, you get a lot of insight into where the industry is today and where it may be headed in the future. Between the sessions and the conversations on the floor, there's so much going on at the ReMA convention.

Mel Tally: I agree. It's equal parts of relationship building, learning, and getting real work done. It's a great combination.

SWEED is sponsoring the ReMA Fun Run at ReMA2026. Tell me about it and what interested you in the sponsorship?

Mel Tally: When I learned about the opportunity, I took the idea back to the team. We thought the Fun Run aligned well with our core values. Health and wellbeing are a big part of SWEED's culture. The Fun Run is a great way for us to support others in the industry who value spending time with colleagues in a more relaxed and personal setting. We thought it was a great chance to put on some tennis shoes, roll up your sleeves, and meet new folks in the industry.

This year alongside the Fun Run there's a Pay-to-Sleep option. If you're not a Fun Run kind of person you can donate $25 or more to the Recycled Education and Research Foundation (RERF) and earn your "I'm not Running Pass." It's a great way to support the recycled materials industry without breaking a sweat.

Is there anything new from SWEED that you're excited to showcase to attendees?

Kevin Gordon: We're taking a more focused and intentional approach to our nonferrous processing strategy. It's built around simplifying the equipment offering to make it easy for customers to install and start up their systems, particularly for small to mid-size systems. Our goal is to reduce the installation burden and get customers up and running faster and more reliably. This approach comes directly from feedback we've received from our customers regarding what areas we can improve on.

We will be doubling down on our core strengths, particularly our linear chopping solutions, which serve as an ideal method for introducing spooled or coiled feedstock into wire chop lines, while also providing a highly effective offline solutions for reducing a wide range of non-ferrous wire and cable.

We're also excited to share a more formal and focused approach and partnership with SSI Shredding Systems. We are joining strengths with them, combining their frontend processors and shredders and introduction of high horse-powered granulators with SWEED's expertise in downstream separation and recovery and introducing to the market a larger scale system with combined expertise.
