The City of Palm Desert, in partnership with Burrtec Waste and Recycling, is offering free document shredding services to help residents and businesses securely dispose of sensitive items such as tax records, legal documents, and bank statements. The shredding event is scheduled to take place Friday, November 21, and Saturday, November 22, at Palm Desert City Hall, from 7:30 - 11:30 a.m., or until the trucks are full.
This is a drive-through, drop-off event, and no appointment is needed. Accepted items include stapled and bound office paper, glossy paper, photos, file folders, and envelopes. While paper clips are allowed, binder clips and notebooks will not be accepted. Residents and businesses are limited to ten boxes per day, and boxes and bags will not be returned. Please ensure that all hazardous materials, such as batteries and potentially flammable liquids, are removed from bags and boxes before drop-off. For more information, contact the City of Palm Desert at 760-776-6342 or email [email protected].
