Showers of Hope: Huntsville Parks & Recreation, Huntsville Music Office team up for free choral concert

Huntsville Parks & Recreation and the Huntsville Music Office invite the community to join them for Showers of Hope, a free choral concert at the Dr. Richard Showers Sr. Center on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 6 p.m. This special event will highlight local vocal ensembles, featuring performances from the Lee High School Choir (Small Ensemble), Alabama A&M Bulldog Elite Stomping Band, Alabama A&M Choir (Small Ensemble) and members of the Oakwood University's Aeolians.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to hear music that will lift spirits and warm hearts," Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett said. "The event is indicative of the wide range of programming we offer at our recreation centers, and one we're proud to be a part of."

The concert, presented in celebration of Black History Month, is also designed to spotlight the talent within Huntsville's local vocal community.

"The Showers of Hope concert is a great opportunity to showcase the diverse voices in our community, which is one of the missions of the Huntsville Music Office," Music Officer Matt Mandrella said. "The event is sure to fill the hearts of everyone in attendance, offering a powerful and moving experience."
