Since 2005, Poetry Out Loud has reached more than 4.4 million students and 81,000 teachers from 20,000 schools and organizations nationwide. Poetry Out Loud is a great way to raise school spirit and generate positive visibility for your school or organization.

All Illinois regional Poetry Out Loud contests are held throughout the month of February. The Illinois state contest is scheduled for March 17 in Springfield. The national contest is scheduled for May 5-7, 2025, in Washington, D.C. Visit the IAC website to learn more about Poetry Out Loud.
