Volunteer Spotlight – Bailey Campbell

First Mid is honored to recognize Bailey Campbell, Commercial Loan Processing Manager, as our Volunteer Spotlight for September 2025. Bailey is committed to supporting local community organizations through volunteerism, consistently demonstrating our core values.

What causes are you passionate about supporting through volunteerism? I'm passionate about supporting youth sports and community programs because I believe giving kids positive experiences and strong role models helps build their confidence and shapes a stronger future for everyone. Most of my volunteer time is spent with our local Little League, where I serve as a board member and coach, schedule umpires, and manage concessions and finances. I'm also involved with G.O.A.L. (Give Our Area Life), an organization focused on supporting local families. Being able to invest my time in programs that help kids grow and bring people together is something I find especially meaningful.

What would you tell others who are thinking about volunteering? Volunteering is incredibly rewarding-not just for the people you're helping, but for yourself as well. In small communities, volunteers are essential. Many programs and events simply wouldn't happen without people willing to step up and give their time. Every bit of help truly matters.

What are ways you think others can get involved? A great way to get started is coaching-there is a need in every community for volunteer coaches. It's a chance to mentor kids and teach them the basics of a sport, while helping them grow in confidence and teamwork. For me, there's nothing more rewarding than watching young athletes develop both on and off the field. Reach out to your local league or park district-they're always happy to help new volunteers get started.
