On Monday, President Gitanas Nausėda, together with the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, will inaugurate the extensively reconstructed section of the Via Baltica motorway connecting Lithuania and Poland. The connection of the main Lithuanian-Polish motorway will symbolically mark the 234th anniversary of the Mutual Pledge of the Two Nations.

The Via Baltica motorway is part of the international European transport network and serves as the most important land artery linking Lithuania - as well as Latvia and Estonia - with Poland and other European Union countries. This road is significant not only for civilian transport but also for military mobility needs.

Following the opening ceremony, a bilateral meeting between the Presidents of Lithuania and Poland is planned. The discussion will focus on key current issues, including defense and security, bilateral relations and cooperation, and support for Ukraine.
