Q: Where did you grow up?
A: Hicksville, Ohio. I also lived in Florida for seven years during my childhood.
Q: Was there an inspiration for you to become a physician assistant (PA)?
A: I didn't feel my health education was complete after finishing my undergraduate degree. I was interested in a career where I could continue to learn, serve my community and help others achieve their health goals. I decided to further my education so I could practice medicine, and the role of physician assistant attracted me because of the flexibility and autonomy of the position within the healthcare team.
Q: What motivates or energizes you in your work?
A: I am most motivated by my patients. I love learning more about their lives and seeing their progress with the choices we make together.
Q: How would you describe your approach to patient care?
A: I try to approach care in a holistic manner and meet my patients where they are, which looks different for each person. I work to make a genuine connection with those I encounter, believing that connection enhances the care I provide and my patients' experience of it.
Q: Do you have any areas of special interest within family medicine?
A: Family medicine is a very broad field, and I enjoy being able to diagnose and treat a wide variety of conditions and work with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Q: What else would you like people to know about you as a healthcare professional?
A: My goal with every encounter is to create a space where my patients feel heard, respected and comfortable. I believe healthcare works best when treated as a partnership, and I want my patients to feel confident and informed when making their own health decisions.
Q: What activities do you enjoy when you're away from the office?
A: I enjoy spending time with my family, experiencing the outdoors, listening to live music and staying active.
