10/06/2026 - Nighttime Paving on Fones Road

Building a Safer Street for Everyone
Nighttime Closure at the North End of Fones Road

Tomorrow evening, October 7th, crews will continue raising utilities and striping the shared use path and roadway on Fones Road from Pacific Avenue to the Karen Fraser Woodland Trail.

To facilitate this work a full road closure will occur from Pacific Ave to the Karen Fraser Woodland Trail on the 7th and 8th from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.

From the 8th to the 10th stripping will also occur at the south end of Fones Road from the south Home Depot entrance to 18th Ave. One lane will remain open to alternate traffic.

Use of alternate routes is highly encouraged.

  • Work will occur during the night, generally from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Local and emergency access to Fones Road will be maintained.

Project Background
This project will transform Fones Road into a safer corridor. It will add sidewalks and crossings for pedestrians, separated bike lanes, an improved trail crossing, improvements for vehicle flow and truck access, and lighting. Landscaping, new pavement, and upgraded utilities are also part of the project.
