Higgins Celebrates Groundbreaking of Advanced Air Mobility Pilot Program at Houma-Terrebonne Airport

LAFAYETTE, LA - Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) congratulated state and local leaders on breaking ground on Louisiana's Advanced Air Mobility and Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) Integration Pilot Program (eIPP) site at the Houma-Terrebonne Airport.

The project, selected by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), will test transportation capabilities and deployment of Advanced Air Mobility for cargo and personnel for flights over the Gulf of America, and to crucial locations for the energy industry in Louisiana. Today's groundbreaking marks the start of construction of the facilities, and once underway, this program will improve connectivity for offshore and coastal communities.
