This growth was driven by residential subscribers, who accounted for 88.4% of the total. By the end of 2Q2025, the number of residential subscribers to the pay-TV distribution service had increased by 28 thousand (+0.7%) to reach 4.1 million, compared to the same quarter last year.
In the non-residential segment, there were 538 thousand subscribers, accounting for 11.6% of the total, and this figure increased by 2.2% compared to the same quarter last year.
The vast majority of PTV subscribers have subscribed to this service as part of a bundle. In 2Q2025, only 1.7% of PTV accesses were sold on a single-play basis.
At the end of 2Q2025, fibre (FTTH/B) accounted for 68.2% of total subscribers, followed by cable TV (24.5%), satellite TV-DTH (6.2%) and ADSL (1.2%).
FTTH/B was also solely responsible for the growth in the number of PTV subscribers, with this technology reaching 3.2 million subscribers this quarter, 168 thousand more than in the same quarter last year (+5.6%). This growth was not only due to new customers, but also to the migration of customers previously served by other networks to FTTH/B. However, this was the lowest annual growth since the introduction of this technology (in 2007).
At the end of 2Q2025, MEO was the operator with the highest share of PTV subscribers (41.9%), followed by Grupo NOS (35.8%), Vodafone (19.4%) and Grupo DIGI / NOWO (2.7%). MEO and Vodafone were the operators that gained the most subscribers in net terms compared to the same quarter last year, with their shares increasing by 0.2 p.p. and 0.1 p.p. respectively. On the other hand, the share of Grupo NOS decreased (-0.3 p.p.).
In the residential segment, MEO and Grupo NOS had the highest shares (40.2% and 37.0% respectively), while in the non-residential segment MEO had more than half of the subscribers (55.2%).
