New Bridge and Dam will reopen State Route 54 @ Bear Creek this weekend

WHAT: GDOT contractors will shift traffic from the temporary roadway detour onto the newly constructed bridge over Bear Creek. The work will be done on Friday, June 12, 2026. There may be times when the crews will need to close a lane of traffic around their work zone. There are warning signs to notify motorists in advance of this operation. Drivers are encouraged to drive alert in the work zone and to slow their speeds around the workers and their equipment.

WHEN: Starting Friday, June 12, 2026, at 9:00 am

WHERE: SR 54, Coweta

Advisory: Dates may change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
