By an act of Congress, St. Charles County residents may be able to apply for financial compensation from the federal government if they were diagnosed with certain cancers, after spending time in zip codes now covered under the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA).
Four St. Charles County zip codes are covered by the law:
- 63367 (Lake Saint Louis)
- 63368 (O'Fallon, Dardenne Prairie)
- 63341 (Defiance)
- 63304 (St. Peters, Weldon Spring, Cottleville)
File a Claim
You can file a claim through the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Division. This is the only place to apply for benefits from the RECA program. Please be aware of scams claiming to file for you.
