The Senate Nov. 10 passed legislation to fund the federal government that will now head to the House for a vote as early as the evening of Nov. 12, as an end to the record-long government shutdown appears to be close. The legislation consists of a three-bill, full-year spending package for the Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration; the legislative branch; and Department of Defense construction projects and the Department of Veterans Affairs. It also includes a short-term continuing resolution to fund the rest of the federal government until Jan. 30. The legislation also retroactively extends key health care waivers and flexibilities until Jan. 30. The AHA will provide additional updates on the situation as details become available.
