#MYSHPR is bringing the fun and games to our neighborhood parks this summer, allowing for resident children and adults to develop meaningful connections with one another and with city employees through various crafts and activities. Every week the site location will change, but the time will remain the same (3-5 p.m.). This program is free for everyone and open to all ages!

Friday, Aug. 22 from 8-10 p.m. No registration required.

Kickflip into the night with us at Late Night Skate at the Skate Park on Friday, Aug. 22 from 8-10 p.m. We'll bring lights and music to the Skate Park while skaters, bikers, scooters, and bladers enjoy the extra time in the park. No registration required.

Dodge Park Thursdays return starting June 5 and we're celebrating 50 years of Music in the Park presented by Genisys Credit Union! Join us every Thursday for live music, Farmers Market, Patios 'n' Pints with Connect Macomb, good vibes, and community fun in the heart of Sterling Heights.

Roller Nights

Get rollin' this summer under the Dodge Park Farmers Market Pavilion with our monthly Roller Nights event. Roller skaters/bladers, skateboarders, bikes and more are invited to come out and skate with live DJ entertainment and food from local food trucks. Roller Nights is free to attend.

Esports Summer Camp

Fridays, Aug. 1-22 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Register online by July 30.

Level up your game at our Esports Summer Camp! Campers will enjoy interacting and playing PC, Switch, and PS5 games in a controlled setting. Each day campers will participate in supervised and scheduled activities lead by our dedicated Esports Camp Councilors. Esports Camp will allow for small snack breaks but will not be providing lunch.

Home Alone Safety

Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 6-8 p.m. Register online by Aug. 1.

Our Home Alone Safety class will prepare children and their parents in making the first steps toward independence and being at home without adult supervision. Class is designed to teach participants how to answer phone calls, recognize hazards, respond during severe weather and power outages, basic first aid, along with fire and pool safety. This class is taught by members of the Sterling-Heights Fire and Police Departments.

Community Blood Drive

Tuesday, Aug. 19 from 2:30-7 p.m. Register online.

Help spread the love by donating blood at our upcoming Community Blood Drive on Aug. 19 from 2:30 - 7 p.m. at the Community Center. Walk-ins welcome as schedule allows but appointments are preferred.

Teen Night Out at CJ Barrymore's

Friday, Aug. 22 from 1:30 - 8:30 p.m. Register online by Aug. 15.

Join us for a full day of fun at CJ Barrymore's! Enjoy unlimited rides and attractions (arcade and batting cages not included) for our entire trip. In addition, pizza, pop and dessert will be provided. Bus will depart the Community Center at 1:30 p.m. and return at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Adult Fall Kickball and Adult Softball

Registration is now open for our fall Adult Kickball and Adult Softball leagues. Registration is only available in person at the Community Center. Sign up your teams by Aug. 25!

Designed for ages 7-12. Welcome to our exhilarating Summer Adventure Series, where each day is packed with adventures that spark curiosity and nurture a love for nature! On Day 1, "Wildlife Wanderers," kids will embark on guided nature walks to discover local flora and fauna, engage in animal tracking, bird watching and enjoy interactive wildlife games while creating art and learning about conservation. Day 2, "Garden Explorers," invites kids to delve into the enchanting world of gardens, where they will plant seeds, understand the role of pollinators and create terrariums and flower crowns, blending creativity with ecological knowledge. Finally, on Day 3, "Adventure in the Sky," kids will take to the skies by making kites, exploring the science of flight and weather and participating in a scavenger hunt for sky-inspired objects, encouraging them to dream big and appreciate the beauty above. Join us for a summer filled with discovery, fun and unforgettable experiences in the great outdoors!

Senior Center

Wacky Water Games

Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 10:30 a.m. Register in person at the Senior Center.

Beat the summer heat with some fun water activities. Participants should come dressed to get a little wet and bring a beach towel. Bathing suits are not required. All members who compete in the fun will have an opportunity to try and douse a staff member. This is a members only event.

SOS Mobile Office Visit

Wednesday, Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

The Secretary of State is bring its services to the Senior Center! No more long wait times at the SOS office. Simply make an appointment to complete your SOS transactions including State I.D. or driver's license renewal, title transfers, disability placards and more. Call the Senior Center at 586-446-2750 to schedule an appointment.

Daytime Concert Series

Grab your friends and family or come on your own to enjoy an hour of great entertainment during our Daytime Concert Series! Programs will be held at either the Senior Center or Farmers Market Pavilion, keeping us covered rain or shine!
