The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture has been awarded funding through the U.S. Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Services' latest Market Access Program awards, supporting continued efforts to expand international opportunities for U.S. agricultural products and the producers behind them.
Through the 2026 MAP award cycle, USDA is investing in export market development and issue management efforts that helps U.S. producers reach new buyers, build lasting global partnerships and grow demand for American agriculture. NASDA's award will support state-led export promotion efforts that elevate U.S. products and advance market access in priority international markets.
"State departments of agriculture are on the front lines of market development for U.S. producers," said NASDA CEO Ted McKinney. "This MAP funding allows NASDA and our members to continue working alongside USDA FAS to strengthen trade relationships abroad while supporting local economies here at home."
A cornerstone of NASDA's trade work is A Taste of the States, a nationally recognized pavilion that connects U.S. producers and state departments of agriculture with international buyers through high-impact trade shows and promotions. NASDA's next A Taste of the States pavilion will take place at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago, May 16-19, showcasing the strength, breadth and innovation of American agriculture.
As NASDA's international trade work continues to grow, so does the need to share it more directly. This post marks the beginning of a new blog where our trade team will offer timely, behind-the-scenes updates on where we're working, what we're building and how our members are driving results around the world.
From trade missions and market development strategies to export success stories and program highlights, this space will bring you closer to the people, partnerships and progress advancing U.S. agricultural exports.
